<Hi

The clubs and classes are filling up again, as most are home from holidays and life returns to normal. The beginners sessions are overflowing with people who've heard that salsa is fun, is a good, healthy activity and a great place to meet a new crowd of people.

Most regular dancers remember those first few weeks that can be quite daunting, the 123-567 sounds easy but getting our feet to move wasn't natural. We've a couple of articles on site that may help some of you.  See beginners article (part 1).

Our top tip for beginners this week is : Ask anyone for a dance, you should get a yes.
Our top tip for all dancers : Just say yes.

In our newsletter, we try and fit in something special for all levels of dancer, whether looking for lessons and courses, or, for the experienced, the big parties, club nights, and holidays.

On site you'll find lessons On1, On2, Cuban, Cali, Rueda and some fusion styles. And some of the bachata and kizomba promoter/teacher/hosts list with us as well as www.bachata.events or www.londonkizomba.co.uk.

Or please try the Global Dance Card app.

if you have taken up salsa as part of a new regime to keep fit and happy, then why not compliment it with some healthy eating? Check out the menu section recommended by our qualified nutritionalist and salsa dancer, Charlotte Umney.

The Friday night choice includes Putney in West London offering multi level classes before the social (beginners can claim a free first timer experience).

In Stockwell, lessons in salsa and kizomba are followed by a party till midnight.

Charing Cross salsa for beginnersThere is £5 off for members at the Salsa Rapido in Charing Cross every Saturday.

http://londonsalsa.co.uk/Event/194250The 3-hour beginners/improvers salsa workshop in Putney starts at 2pm on Saturday.

Ella Mesma in London this Saturday

The Roots of Rumba UK Tour reaches Bethnal Green this Saturday.
Ella Mesma brings performances from the very best of local, national and international dance theatre representing dance of the African diaspora. With elements from Rumba, Tango, Afro-Brazilian, Hip Hop and Capoeira.
For you, a full day of workshops followed by performances and aftershow party.

Saturday evening in Holborn, Gil and Shelley (Pexava) host their anticipated Saturday night social, with top DJs, perfect dance floor, oodles of free water and an orange wedge to finish the night.

Out of town, I promised a mention for Salsa D'Lite who launch a new 3rd Saturday of the month salsa club night in Danbury, Chelmsford.

For Sunday evening there is a £2 off for you, our members, at the Revolution in Richmond, where a true mix of crossbody, cuban and cali dancers share the floor as the live band keeps all dancing. Make sure you quote London Salsa or reveal your Global Dance Card app.

Todo Latino - ALL THINGS LATIN

There are special offers galore every day of the week throughot the capital and into the suburbs . Please mention London Salsa at the door or reveal your Global Dance Card app.

Check out Holloway on Wednesday or the plethora of course offers in Paddington with Caramelo. Also this Wednesday, in Hammersmith you can claim a free first time beginners session.

Not salsa but still dancing to live music, the 60s AllStars are live in Hampton.

Before saying happy dancing, I must give you warning that we are upgrading some of our functionality for you over the next couple of weeks, so advise making a note perchance we have to be offline for a few hours.  I'm told that the Global Dance Card app will still be able to find activity details.

If you were one of the beginners this week at any of the clubs, then this is London Salsa encouraging you to go back next week and make sure you keep practicing those basics whenever you can.  I know this is supposed to be a professional newsletter, aimed at giving you all the information about whats on in London this week, however I must tell you that when I was a beginner, I found the surface at the local supermarket particularly useful for practicing my spin. And the looks I got on the tube platform were I hope complimentary not derisory.

Happy Dancing,

Leigh and the London Salsa team
